Former Secretary of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) Dr. Maxine Parris-Aaron is refuting the claim made in the August 9 edition of this newspaper which stated that the invitation letter sent by Director of Sport Neil Kumar summoning the sub-associations to a Meeting today neither was in her possession nor was it ever sent to her.
Parris-Aaron, who tendered her resignation from the post since last year is contending that at no time was the invitation letter in her possession as was reported by this newspaper.
“Contrary to what was reported I at no time saw or received any such documentation and to go even further the entire executive of the GABF is cognisant of the fact that I had resigned from my post since last year,” Parris-Aaron told Kaieteur Sport yesterday via telephone.
The article stated that Kumar called a Stakeholder Meeting with the sub-associations to move the sport forward in the absence of the late retired Colonel Godwin McPherson, who passed away recently.
She reminded that she is in no way currently associated with the GABF.
