Dear Editor,
At the Senior Level, our cricket is probably the lowest in the West Indies.
Even the Combined Colleges and Campuses managed to get more points than us in the last Regional Competition. We finished last.
At the Under-19 Level, we finished just above the Windward Islands being soundly trashed along the way by some of the other territories.
This performance was from a team that the Manager, Mr. Alvin Johnson (who incidentally has been managing this team for the past six (6) years or so) said was one of our better teams and who, in fact, predicted that we will do well in the Tournament.
Guyana’s Cricket, once the pride of the Nation has been reduced to RUBBLE and the Executives seem clueless as to a turnaround plan.

Editor’s note:
The comments attributed to Mr. Alvin Johnson in this letter was not really his, but sentiments expressed by the Guyana Cricket Board. Johnson had disagreed to those comments that this was one of our better teams.
