Vassie Barry crowned champion rider
Motorcyclist Vassie Barry was crowned champion rider when the Byker Boyz Club held their 3rd annual Motor Cycle meet held at the Enterprise Community Centre ground on Sunday August 2.

Piloting his 125cc bike, Barry cantered to victory in three 10-lap pro races, Andy Rajkarran and Alvin Balgobin placing 2nd and 3rd in all 3 races.
Copping the open 18-lap race was Dave Gangadin ahead of Alvin Balgobin and Charlie Henry.
Dave also won one of the 10-lap Pro races with Rajkarran and Alvin Balgobin claiming the other spots in that order.
The other Pro race of the day saw Steven Viera taking the top spot followed by Gangadin and Charlie Henry.
There were 3 novice races, Peter Tulsie taking the top spot in two with the other going to Sewchan Baljit who also copped a second place behind Tulsie whom he defeated.
The road bike event went to Fazal Baksh ahead of Ramesh Latchman and Zalim.
Dexter Persaud was unstoppable in the two Chappy races.
According to the organisers, the event was well supported by a capacity crowd of about four thousand spectators and they would like to express their gratitude to all who supported the annual event.
Among the sponsors who contributed to the prizes were Carib Beer, Trophy Stall, Rapid Grafix, Khan Auto Spare, Muneshwar Hardware & General Store and Sur Sports Bar.
