– Final set for Sunday 16th at Blairmont
The Nagico Insurance Company of St Maarten are the main sponsors of a 20/20 Cricket Competition in Berbice.
Four teams from Berbice will be involved – West Berbice, Police, Bermine and Blairmont Community Centre – together with the Nagico Insurance Co. first division team that participates in St Maarten cricket competitions.
Also lending sponsorship support locally are A. Ally and Sons Ltd of New Amsterdam, Lalso and Sons of D’Edward and Candy Shop of Georgetown along with two St Maarten based businesses enterprises, Instant Concrete and Office World.
The four local teams will be involved in two preliminary matches on Friday to determine the two semi-finalists with Police and Blairmont Community Centre clashing at Blairmont from 9:30am and then in the afternoon at 2pm. West Berbice and Police will meet at the same venue.
The winners will be involved in the semi-finals at Blairmont next Sunday morning from 9:30am and the winner from that will come up against the Nagico team in the final at 2pm, for the Nagico Trophy and the $100,000 first prize.
Meanwhile the Nagico team will be involved in a warm up match on Thursday against D’Edward at Blairmont from 2pm.
