To host judges seminar on August 30
Bodybuilders will face off on September 20 at the National Cultural Centre when the Guyana Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GABBFF) host their senior championships.
According to a release from the federation, only the top competitors at the senior nationals, who have the best chances of medaling, will be eligible for selection to represent Guyana at the upcoming IFBB Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships scheduled for September 30 to October 4, 2009 in St. Georges, Grenada.
To ensure the highest possible standards in judging and in the quality of athletes competing at the National level, the Executive Committee of the GABBFF will be hosting a General Meeting and Judges Seminar.
The General Meeting will take place on August 23 and will review and approve the new Constitution of the GABBFF. This new Constitution seeks to address inter alia eligibility criterion for progressing from the Novice stage, to the Intermediate stage, and finally to the Senior stage of the sport in Guyana.
The Judges Seminar is scheduled for August 30. This training programme will target new Judges as well as existing judges wishing to upgrade their skills and to learn the latest rules and regulations for judging the sport.
The GABBFF stated that the organisation looks forward to the continued support of the Bodybuilding fraternity and the general public as it strives to raise the profile and standard of Bodybuilding in Guyana.
