Man, 82, dies after riding into trailer
Teemul Sookhoo
Temul Sookhoo, known to all as Massa, celebrated his 82nd birthday on Sunday. He died at the Suddie Hospital hours after he was involved in an accident on Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, Massa was riding a bicycle on the Free and Easy Public Road on Wakenaam when he collided with the rear end of a trailer that was travelling in the opposite direction. The driver reported the accident to the police
Massa was said to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He suffered an injury to his right foot.
He was rushed to the Wakenaam Cottage Hospital before he was transferred to the Suddie Hospital where he passed away some hours later.
Residents expressed shock when they learnt of Massa’s death.
The driver has since been held by the police for questioning as they continue their investigation.
A postmortem is to be conducted early next week.
