Western Union div. 1, Trix U-17 & Courts Pee Wee leagues to resume
Following weeks of inactivity due to inclement weather, footballers in the city are set to resume rivalry in three Georgetown Football Association (GFA) organised tournaments.
The Trix Under-17 league kicks back into top gear with four matches on Saturday at the
Tucville and Camptown grounds.
At Tucville from 08:00hrs, home team Fruta Conquerors engage Georgetown Football Club and two hours later, Pele matches skills with Flamingo.
Over at the Camptown ground in Campbellville, Camptown will hope to use their home advantage to good stead when they face BK International Western Tigers; the main attraction pits Renaissance against Black Pearl.
The Tucville ground will also host five (5) matches in the Courts Pee Wee Under-11 league on Saturday also.
From 13:00hrs, Renaissance play Santos and Fruta Conquerors oppose Riddim Squad. At 14:00hrs, Western Tigers match skills with Buxton United and Thomas United come up against Uprising.
The lone fixture at 15:00hrs will see Pele opposing Camptown.
The Western Union sponsored division one league is set to resume on Sunday at the Camptown ground in Campbellville with a double header.
Santos and Houston Stars will set the ball rolling at 14:00hrs with feature play between Thomas United and Beacon.
The level of play by the various teams will be interesting to see. Some teams would have been part of some knock-out tournaments and the just concluded Futsal competition at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, but must now up their game in order to stake a claim for the top positions and a chance to be promoted to the Cellink Premier League.
