Rose Hall Town Pepsi and Port Mourant A both won their latest Zone C (Lower and Central Corentyne) preliminary matches to become the first and second runner-up respectively to Albion Community Centre in that Zone, thus earning the right to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2009 Spready’s Bakery Under-19, 50-over Cricket Competition in Berbice.
Berbice Under-19 all-rounder Eon Hooper’s 52 not out (4 fours and 3 sixes), spearheaded Rose Hall Town Pepsi to a 91 run win over Kildonan, while Mark Bheemsingh 66 (2 fours and 1 six) and Bisham Persaudie 44 led Port Mourant A in their 48 run victory against Kildonan.

At Port Mourant: Port Mourant A beat Port Mourant B by 41 runs. Port Mourant A 168 in 27 overs with Chandrashakar Arjune 49, Rishan Brusch 30, Mark Bheemsingh 21, Kerage Ramdat 3 for 19 and Jamal Jarvis 2 for 30.
At Albion: GuySuCo Training Centre (GTC) beat Rose Hall Town Metro by 39 runs in their match which was reduced to 20 overs-a-side. GuySuCo Training Centre (GTC) 121 in 17 overs with Kevin Stewart 34, Tremayne Smartt 3 for 26; Rose Hall Town Metro 82 in 16 overs with Soman Ganpat 3 for 9 and Ravendra Latchmanen 3 for 8.
