NAACIE takes close look at BOSAI workers’ interest

With the head of BOSAI’s absence and the reduction in activities at the company, workers have begun expressing their concern over the possible downsizing of operations.
General Secretary of the National Association of Agricultural Commercial and Industrial Employees (NAACIE), Kenneth Joseph, said that given this, the Union is monitoring the concerns raised by the employees.
Joseph said that the Union recently met with some workers who are concerned over the possible downscaling in operations.
Workers claim that the kilns at Linden have not been fired up for quite some time.
Also, there are reports that already there has been a reduction in almost all operations. Hence, the workers are fearful that with this development and given the world’s current economic downturn, some of them may be laid-off if there is to be an official downscale in operations at BOSAI.
Meanwhile, Joseph said that his Union has registered the workers’ concern and is monitoring the situation.
Joseph said that he has tried meeting the BOSAI Administration but he has since learnt that the head is currently in China.
He added that he is not sure of the nature of General Manager, Steven Ma’s, visit to China, and at this point, he will not want to create further fear in the minds of workers.
According to Joseph, if the company is to move along the road of downscaling operations, then the administration would need to officially inform the union.
He said that once the union would have been informed, there would have to be some sort of agreement signed which is satisfying to both parties.
In the meantime, Joseph said that employees should continue to work as they have been doing until official word is forthcoming.
