Dear editor,
While driving home late one night, a bright light hit my face. The light was so bright I lost any visual I had on the road and I ran into a nearby trench.
I was livid, for the reason that these blinding fluorescent headlights have now become the trend of many vehicles. As much as it is a danger to drink and drive and using your cell phone while driving, these lights hold the same possibility of accidents
Moreover, what seems to boggle my thinking is that several times I have read editorials denouncing the use of these lights, because of the potential dangers they carry.
Yet, certain negligent drivers obtain these lights, unconcern for the blinding effect impose on others. Will the authorities finally ban these lights when our headlines read “extremely bright light causes catastrophic accident?”
The sad truth is – if measures are not taken to address the matter of these blinding headlights, disasters worst than what I experienced will ensue.
Therefore I implore for the goodness sake of lives saved, for a law to be passed ruling out the use of these lights on vehicles
A. Bastian
