After being stabbed multiple times by her estranged husband, 39-year-old Sumintra Rampersaud still remains in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital, in the High Dependency Unit.
Yesterday, hospital officials said that she was still lapsing in and out of consciousness.
The official explained that “Rampersaud would wake up and try to speak but cannot because she suffered a broken jaw, so she would just moan in pain”.
The officials further stated that Rampersaud at times would wake up and just stare at the ceiling. “She would wake up and just stare at the ceiling like if she ain’t know where she deh”.
The woman was stabbed by her estranged husband last week with a sharpened piece of wood. She received gaping wounds to her neck and other parts of her body.
