Floodlights XI defeated Shattasville XI by 45 runs last Friday night at National Park Tarmac in a match of the Wellman Masters Cup cricket tournament thanks to a century from outstanding batsman Ricky Deonarain.
Floodlights XI batted first and made 266 for 5 in 25 overs. Deonarain hammered 118, with support coming from Rajendra Singh 57 and Derick Ramoutar 41.
Shattasville in reply, were dismissed for 217 off 24 overs. Feroz Khan hit 87 and Lalbachan Babulal 43 in their run chase.
Bowling for Floodlights, Intiaz Mohammed took 4 for 28 in 5 overs and Amernauth Budhoo 3 for 31 to orchestrate the victory.
