The East Coast Reunion “Million Dollar Baby” Football Tournament continues tonight at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) Ground Bourda with two quarter-final matches from 6pm when Ann’s Grove take on Alpha United.
The second game features Victoria Kings against Western Tigers in an interesting game given the absence of Tigers’ national striker, Devon Millington, who received a red card in a preliminary game against Bakewell Buxton Stars.
However, the team’s captain Delon Fraser will have to shine for them. He has Maxwell Pellew, Travis Rowley and Peter Wilson as his supporting cast. This is expected to be an intriguing encounter against the Kings.
Andrew Holder, Clayton Wilson, Calvin De Souza, Kwesi De Souza, Rolston “Crespo” Morrison and Orin Elias will play upfront for Kings while Shawn Samuels and Samuel Blackett ushers the defensive strategy.
National captain, Howard Lowe will lead Alpha with support from a star-studded line-up that includes, Shawn Bishop, Dwight Peters, Dwayne Jacobs, Philbert Moffett, Quincy Madramootoo and Andrew Murray Jr. Lowe will marshal the defence along with Kelvin Mackenzie, Abassi McPherson and Gordon Henry with Ronson Williams in the uprights.
Ann’s Grove is known for its fitness, which was demonstrated in a game against Golden Stars. Oswald Duke is expected to guide his charges with backing coming from Kevin Barry, Dwayne Rogers and Helton Fraser.
The other quarter-final matches are billed for Thursday when the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) tackle Santos in the first game and Mahaica Determinators challenge Fruta Conquerors in the featured showdown.
