Event to commence on Monday
The Abdullah Hamid Basketball Foundation (AHBF) will commence the twentieth edition of its annual basketball clinic for players between the ages of 7-17 on Monday at the Mackenzie Sports Club court in Linden.
Hamid, who is also the President of the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA), said that the participants will learn the fundamentals of the game while workshops on social work and crime will also be held.
He informed that a social worker is to conduct the social sessions while a police officer will lecture on crime and crime prevention. A special ceremony is to be held to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Summer Camp. National point guard, Steve Neils is one of the outstanding players to have benefited from the Camp. National players, Marvin Hartman, Nkossi Gurrick and Shawna Carter are among other players that also benefited.
