Several teams register wins
Blue Berry Hill Juniors, led by a top score of 21 from Gavin Morrison defeated Victory Valley Kings by 4 wickets, when play continued in the Under-15 category of the Mike’s Pharmacy 15 overs, country-wide, round hand softball cricket competition, organised by the Guyana Softball League.
Victory Valley Kings batted first and scored 81 all out in 10 overs. In reply Blue Berry Hill Juniors made 82-6 from 8.4 overs.
In another match, Section ‘C’ Warriors defeated Uprising by 19 runs. Section “C” Warriors batted first and amassed 104-7 in 10 overs. In reply, Uprising could only muster 85-8 from 8 overs.
Other results of matches played in Linden are: Kara Kara Kings defeat All Stars by 7 wickets; Genesis “A” beat Mighty Risers by a massive 141 runs; West Watooka “A” got past Nottinghamshire by a 33 runs and West Watooka ‘B’ won by walkover over Genesis ‘B, while Sunrise SC defeated Komaka Juniors by one wicket.
Also in Linden, at the Christianburg Ground, South Star XI got the better of Exodus XI by a huge 115 runs. Batting first, South Star XI scored 204-5 when their 15 overs ran out. Exodus XI fell woefully short of the target, losing all, of their wickets for 89 runs in just 9.5 overs. The competition continues on Sunday.
