Guyana is de land of many waters and dem have nuff people who can swim but unless dem join a club, dem have to swim in de Blacka or in dem trench or in de river or in de sea.
Well that dangerous suh de government decide that it gun mek somewhere fuh dem people swim. De government put nuff millions, some people tell dem boys that at least $300 million, fuh mek a swimming pool. Then dem boys find out that de swimming pool was fuh people who practicing fuh swim fuh Guyana. It was to be one Olympic pool.
Dem boys didn’t vex because dem like fuh see de Guyana flag flying at international events.
De contractors dig a deep and wide hole just like de one dem have in de National Park and like de one pun D’Urban Park. Dem boys go fuh swim inside but dem had to wait till rain fall.
Up comes a newspaper camera man and he tek de photo but by this time de hole de full up because when people dig a hole and lef it, it does full up. Is then dem boys decide to ask how much money spend pun de hole and dem hear couple million dollars.
Neil Kumar get vex and he start fuh grumble, he want fuh know how come de photo of de swimming hole mek front page in de paper.
Dem boys still laughing. De reporter tell he that de pool swim from de back page to de front page.
But that ain’t de whole story. Dem boys seh that some reporters decide to check up pun some other construction. Dem find a koker that cost a few hundred million dollars but no water ain’t flowing; dem find a bridge that even de Minister had to rip up because de contractor use short nail and when people walk de plank does raise up.
One woman walk pun one of de plank and it raise up and knock she in she face. She still deh in hospital. And some people in Campbellville asking fuh a contract fuh clear dem playfield. Dem boys warning dem because it ain’t gun be cheap. Dem want fuh know is how much million fuh cut de grass suh that children can use de playground.
But is de pump dem that got dem boys talking. A pump that dem boys seh ain’t worth wha de contractor charge got dem boys talking how dem contractors pumping de country. Everybody pumping because is millions of dollars flowing.
Dem boys seh that things suh expensive that one man had to tun to a dog fuh physical and emotional relief. That story still got dem boys talking. Dem hear that de owner of de dog use to lef it wid a man. This particular night, a policeman see de man attach to de dog and he arrest de man.
Whether he telling de truth is another story because he claim when he disturb de man de man get vex and pelt a cuff at he. But was de prosecutor who had dem boys laughing till now. She tell de magistrate that de dog man should remain in jail because de court got a right to protect all dem other dog because dem at risk.
De man cry blood in court but de magistrate didn’t sorry fuh he. He deh cooling out. Now dem have others who might join he fuh other reasons. Dem boys waiting fuh hear who is de contractor who gun build de airstrip at Leguan and another at Wakenaam. Is nuff millions fuh dem project and when de plane ready to fly people dem would have to pay two million; one fuh land and de other fuh de man on de ground.
Dem boys know that Robert de plant man does get vex when people talk bout de expensive pump and de super expensive koker. He claim how people checking pun he and that he gun start investigating de same people who talking bout de pump and de koker. Dem boys seh that he pump up. He probably use Viagra. That is wha dem boys seh and that is not a good thing because it kill some big ones in this country.
Viagra cheap but de pump dear; at least that is wha dem boys believe.
And dem also know that once people checking pun dem contract all of a sudden de value gun drop because just like how everybody pumping, more people peeping.
