– 44 Under-15 & 19 players to attend
The historic Scotia Bank Berbice Cricket Academy, hosted by the Berbice Cricket Board bowls off on Monday at the Port Mourant cricket ground from 08.30hrs.
The Academy, the first of its kind in Berbice, involves 27 Under-15 and 17 Under-19 players.
Sessions would be conducted by senior coaches, Michael Hyles and Winston Smith.
Chairman of the Berbice Cricket Board Special Events Committee, Hilbert Foster, at a media briefing on Monday, stated that this year’s Academy focus is on the development of the player on and off the field to become proper role models to their peers and sports ambassadors for their county.
Head coach, Michael Hyles disclosed that a full and comprehensive programme has been scheduled during the five-day event.
The following players have been selected by the BCB, and are asked to report to the Port Mourant ground on Monday at 08.00 hours, with their personal cricket gears.
