National Under-19 Shemaine Campbell has been named captain of the Berbice senior female team that will represent the Ancient County in the Guyana Cricket Board/Inter County competition set to bowl off tomorrow in the capital city with the Berbicians taking on Demerara at the Everest ground, Camp Road.
Nikita Toney has been named as Campbell’s deputy, the 15-member squad was selected by the Senior Selection Committee of the BCB under the chairmanship of Mark Lyte.
The full squad reads: Shemaine Campbell (captain), Nikita Toney (vice captain), Erva Giddings, Nikita Toney, Tremayne Smartt, Tracey Miller, Natasha Gangoo, Shenella Mc Bean, Nirmala Sewdat, Hermala Sewdat, Melanie Henry, Katana Mentore, Sabrina Munroe, Trishanie Cort, Jacquelin Singh and Inga Henry.
BCB Secretary Angela Haniff will manage the squad with Michael Hyles serving as Coach. On Monday last the squad received a timely donation of polo shirts, caps and hygiene kits compliments of the Special Events Committee (SEC) of the Board.
SEC Chairman Hilbert Foster in handing over the items called on the team to be professional in all they do and to represent the County with passion, pride and hunger for success.
The Board this year has implemented a system to ensure every Berbice team is well prepared and properly uniformed.
