An act of defiance?
Just one day after they were charged Mark Benschop and trade unionist Norris Witter were back protesting.
This time Witter and Benschop demonstrated outside the Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday.
Although, a few ranks observed the protest, no attempt was made to arrest the men on this occasion.
Benschop, Witter and Lincoln Lewis were arrested last Wednesday while protesting outside Police Headquarters, Eve Leary. They all spent a night in the Brickdam lock-ups and were released on $10,000 bail the following day.
They were subsequently charged for unlawful assembly, disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest and were released on self-bail when they appeared in court on Monday.
Lewis who is out of the jurisdiction was not present in court on Monday when the charges were read.
