The Inner Wheel Club of Georgetown Central on July 1 had its installation of office bearers for 2009 to 2010 at the Georgetown Club.

The new president is Dr Karen Boyle, who has committed the club to improving the quality of life of the disadvantaged.
The Club will focus on fund raising to support several orphanages and senior citizens’ homes, as well as provide scholarships to the Guyana School of Agriculture and vocational Skills training for single mothers and women that have been victims of domestic violence.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Club and will be celebrated with a church service and a special dinner.
The fundraising events planned for this year include a Brazilian dinner and movie, a raffle, take away lunch, cake and snacks sale, as well as the annual tea party among others.
