With an aim to provide medical assistance as well as US$350,000 in medication and medical and health counseling, the Guyana Watch Medical Team is set to arrive in Guyana for its 17th Annual Medical Outreach Programme from July 24 through August 2.
The team would consist of 10 medical doctors in various fields of specialisation as well as a Paediatric Cardiologist, a dentist, a pharmacist and 17 support staff. During this year’s programme, the team expects to see well over 3,000 patients, at seven clinics across Guyana.
The Guyana Watch Group has completed a number of heart surgeries for children in the United States and India, along with financial assistance for patients that required other overseas medical interventions.
The team will begin working on July 25 at the Patentia Government School and will be serving Wales/ Patentia and West Bank Demerara. The following day, the Meten-Meer-Zorg, Tuschen and Zeelugt areas will be served at the Meten-Meer-Zorg Government School.
Persons from Timehri Docks, Santa Mission and Kuru-Kuru will be attended to on July 27 at the Timehri Government School.
Persons from the Essequibo Coast can visit with the team at Aurora Government School on July 29, while the Albion/ Rose Hall and the entire Corentyne Coast, Berbice will be treated at Rose Hall Government School on July 30.
On July 3, the team will conduct the outreach for Bath Settlement and the entire West Coast Berbice at the Bath Settlement Government School.
