Dear Editor,
I am writing to draw attention to the following issue.
During the week of the Caricom Heads’ Meeting, workers from the City Council did an almost excellent job cleaning the drains and their surrounding areas in Duke Street, Kingston.
They did not, however, clean along the lengths of the areas outside of the two empty lots in the street.
Both of these areas are overgrown with tall grass and badly need cleaning – how could the workers leave these areas the way they did?
As if this isn’t bad enough, the workers, yes, the workers from the City Council, left the stuff they removed from cleaning the drains, in a heap in front of one of the empty lots!!!
Household refuse is now being dumped onto the said heap to create a further mess and, needless to say, an eyesore and health hazard.
I sincerely hope the publishing of this letter will trigger a correction of this situation by those responsible.
