Linens in abundance were donated to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation yesterday, compliments of the Sheraton Hotel, in Toronto Canada.
Making the donation on behalf of the establishment yesterday was Mr Chandrika Manharat, who said that there are still many more items yet to be brought to Guyana for the public hospital.
Among the items that are yet to be donated is a quantity of toys for children within the Paediatric Ward, Manharat said.
Receiving the endowment yesterday, which comprised of a large quantity of bed sheets, pillow cases and towels, was Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital, Michael Khan. He said that one of the many problems at the hospital is the need for linens which are often misplaced. He said that with the assistance of Manharat, the items will be marked with a special stamp before they are distributed to the various sections of the hospital.
The donation was solicited by the Amerindian International Development and the Rose Wood Nazarene Church of Canada.
