Prime Minister Samuel Hinds swore-in Mirza Sahadat as Commissioner of Title and Judge of the Land Court, and Sueanna Lovell as Temporary Magistrate.
The Prime Minister bestowed the titles, yesterday, with the hope that the recipients administer their roles without fear or favour. He expressed appreciation that they have accepted the call to duty and urged them to stand up unwaveringly to the requirements of the office they will assume.
Sahadat, who hails from Berbice, thanked the Judicial Services Commission for affording him the opportunity to serve his country, and hopes to be part of the effort to restore the confidence of the public in the administration of justice.
Lovell, who graduated from Law School in 2002, previously served at the Chambers of the Attorney General for over six years.
Also present at the ceremony were Chief Justice (ag), Ian Chang and Chancellor of the Judiciary (ag), Carl Singh. (GINA)
