Police raid Prashad Nagar house, rescue ‘abducted’ man

Police have detained at least one person after raiding a Prashad Nagar house to rescue a man who claimed that gunmen in two pickups had abducted him.
The alleged victim has told police that he was
returning from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri, yesterday morning with his wife when the occupants of two pickups stopped the car in which they were travelling.
He said that after being informed that “the boss” wanted him, the gunmen bundled him into the pickup and took him to a Prashad Nagar residence.
The man also alleged that the abductors also relieved him of $800,000 and left him at the residence.
Kaieteur News understands that police later received a call from a woman who informed them that a man had been abducted and was being held in the residence.
On reaching the area, they were directed to the top flat, where they found that ‘kidnap’ victim.
Police according to reports have since detained another man in connection with the incident.
