Bandits strike again at Albion

Bandits continue to plunder the Albion, Corentyne with another report of robbery this time by three armed men.
Police in a statement said that about 19:30 hours on Monday the gang attacked overseas-based Guyanese Budnarine, 75, and his wife Sookranie Budnarine, 67, and three other relatives.
According to the police, investigations have revealed that the victims were sitting under the house when two of the men entered and held them at gunpoint while the other stood guard on the roadway.
The perpetrators took away US$5,000, $15,000 in local currency and a quantity of jewellery and escaped discharging their weapons indiscriminately as they did so.
A window of the home was damaged but no one was injured.
Joint Services ranks responded to the report and a man has been arrested and is assisting with the investigations.
Over the weekend bandits terrorized another Albion residence, making off with more than $5M in cash and jewellery.
On that occasion the police response was criticized.
Meanwhile, also in Berbice, three men were arrested following the recovery of a stolen car at a residence at number 50 Village, Corentyne, around 19:30 hours on Monday.
The car, a blue AT 212 Toyota Carina PKK 3384 was reported stolen from taxi driver Lyndon Harris of Campbellville, Georgetown on July 13, at Pike Street, Kitty.
He said that he was held up by five men, one of whom was armed with an ice-pick.
