The management of the Sheriff Taxi Service awarded the first winner of its ‘Travel and Win Promotion’ at its base on Sheriff Street, Georgetown.
Antonetta Binns, of Agricola, East Bank Demerara, was presented with a $10 000 cash prize when she won the first monthly drawing since the promotion commenced earlier this month.
On the 11th of each month, a lucky customer will win this cash prize, compliments of the service.
By traveling with the service, customers will earn one point for every dollar spent.
Customers are required to enroll with the service and in doing so will be redeeming their points that can be used towards future traveling with the service.
To enroll, customers can collect forms from the friendly drivers and provide their names, address and phone numbers. They will earn 5000 bonus points when they enroll and receive a special identification card.
They are required to produce their travel card number to the dispatcher when they call the service and after the trip, their points will be automatically credited to their account.
On accumulating 30 000 points, the service will send that customer a $300 gift certificate that can be used towards the cost of their next drop. Customers are urged to look out for the ‘reward point specials’.
Added to that, customer’s particulars will also be entered into the monthly prize drawing each time they present their travel card to the dispatcher after traveling.
This promotion will end with a grand prize drawing on February 20, 2010 giving all customers who travel between May 2009 and January 31, 2010, a chance to win the grand prize of $250 000.
Yesterday, Binns was very ecstatic at her first winning and vowed she will continue to support the service which is definitely ‘giving back to its customers’. She urged other individuals to grasp the opportunity to win ‘big cash’, compliments of the taxi service.
