Guyana Fashion Weekend 2K9 previews at Mainstay
Mainstay Resort is hosting a preview to the 2K9 Guyana Fashion Weekend on August 1, next, on the Essequibo Coast.

A part of the GFW Committee’s mission this year is to take the fashion explosion to people in areas where they are unlikely to view the spectacle.
In a brief interview, GFW Chief Executive Officer, Sonia Noel, expressed her exhilaration at teaming up with Mr. Jagnarine at the resort to present a ‘fashion fiesta’ like never before seen in the area.
This event will come in the form of a whole day festival, culminating with a special fashion parade to display samples of what is to come at the actual event later this year.
Added attractions will also include some of Guyana’s most rated entertainers.
Last year, the fashion diva took fashion to the ghetto (Albouystown) and was well received by the residents.
This year she is extending her reach to other areas in Guyana and wants the public to know that fashion is not aloof and excluding, but rather participatory and inclusive.
Ten local design houses will flaunt their fashion capsules in anticipation of the big weekend event.
