Four teams clash for winner take all top prize of $500,000
The Central Corentyne will be a hive of activity tomorrow when a four-team Twenty20 cricket competition, sponsored by overseas businessman Dave Balgobin comes off at the Kennard Cricket Ground.
Clashing for the top prize are Aroma Sports Club of Bush Lot Farm, Letter Kenny, Yakusari Caribs Cricket Club and Kildonan Cricket Club.
The winning team would take home the top prize of $500, 000 along with a trophy, while the best batsman and bowler along with the man-of-the-finals would receive $20, 000 and a trophy each.
A trophy will be awarded to the losers of the final, while all players and umpires will be presented with medals by the organisers.
Competition time is 09:00hrs and entrance to the venue is free.
Balgobin, who was born at Bush Lot Farm before migrating to the United States, has invested heavily to construct two modern spectators pavilion and washroom facilities at the ground in an effort to offer sports as a positive avenue for youths in the Central Corentyne area.
