Four matches slated for tomorrow
Play in the Trophy Stall sponsored Inter-Jamaat 10-over round-robin tapeball cricket competition, organised by the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO), is set to continue tomorrow at the MYO ground, Woolford Avenue with four matches.
From 10:30hrs, Lusignan oppose Diamond; at 12:00hrs Wales play New Mosque B;
Queenstown and Peter’s Hall square off at 13:30hrs with the final game of the day between Enmore and New Mosque A.
In results from last Sunday’s opening day of rivalry, Peters Hall, Grove, GIT and LBI defeated their respective opponents, while Wales, Land of Canaan, Farm B and New Mosque B all won via the walk over route.
Peter’s Hall took first strike against Mocha and managed to reach 94-4 off their 10 overs. Ryan Singh led with 27 and Jason Persaud made 24. Jamal Ali took 3-2 for Mocha, who in reply were limited to 77-9, despite Sayeed Cave’s top score of 35; extras contributed 23. Bowling for Peter’s Hall Damian Singh took 2 wickets.
Grove bated first against New Mosque A and raced to 122-2, Ameer Azeez smashing 52 and Shafeek Ishmail 44. New Msoque A could only manage 85-5 in their turn at the crease. Sherwin Barrow top scored with 30 in a losing cause.
GIT and LBI got the better of Queenstown and Mocha respectively, while winning by the walk over route were Wales, Land of Canaan, Farm B and New Mosque B from Old Mosque, Cornelia Ida, Triumph A and Triumph B.
