Randolph Spelling, 51, of 144 Calendar Street, Albouystown, was yesterday placed on $50,000 bail for allegedly stealing a quantity of correctional ink, pens, papers and other items valuing $88,609 property of Mohamed Nazardeen on March 12.
He pleaded not guilty and told the court that he was the sole bread winner of three children.
“Meh worship I got my house rent to pay and I begging ya if you could put me on a li’l bail”. He got his wish.
The prosecution did not oppose bail, but told the court that nothing was recovered. It was further stated that on the day in question, Nazardeen was unpacking the items into his store and had turned his back when the defendant quickly helped himself.
Nazardeen raised an alarm and the defendant ran away.
Spelling is expected to make another court appearance on September 18.
