– 45 graduate from First Aid course

As the St John Association celebrated another anniversary, 45 trainees have completed the first aid course and graduated last Saturday at the entity’s Cowan Street Head Office.
Guest speaker, Health Minister Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, highlighted the importance of persons grasping opportunities to increase knowledge, develop skills and contribute to the health of men, women and children.
The St. John Association of Guyana started its annual week of special anniversary activities on Sunday June 28 with a special commemoration service at the St. George’s Cathedral.
The service was conducted by Reverend Terry N. Davis.
Among those in attendance were Prime Minister Samuel Hinds; Mayor Hamilton Green; Diplomats, Chairman of St. John Association of Guyana, Vibert Parvatan; Council Members and Volunteers of the Brigade. Also in attendance were detachments from the Military and Para-Military Force.
The Service focused on “Giving” reflecting on St. John the Baptist.
During the week, visits were paid to the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre and blood pressure and sugar testing were done for the public at the William Fogarty’s Store.
