A man who allegedly had carnal knowledge of a female under 15 years old was yesterday remanded by Acting Chief Magistrate, Melissa Robertson.
Mark Persaud was not required to plead to the indictable offence which accused him of committing the crime on July 7.
The matter was called up to the bench and after a lengthy discussion, he was remanded to prison. Persaud is expected to make another court appearance on July 24.
The defendant shouted out in court that he did not have anybody to look after his two children and begged for bail.
He also alleged that he was beaten by the police.
