Eighteen-year-old Ronald Abrams was yesterday remanded to prison on the charge of attempting to commit murder.
Abrams made a court appearance before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It was alleged that the accused on July 4, attempted to murder Lennox Mendonca. He was not required to plead to the indictable offence. Abrams was unrepresented in court.
According to the prosecution the VC is still hospitalised in a critical state.
Abrams, in his defence, told the court that he and the virtual complainant had a fight.
He explained that on July 4, the VC and his cousin came into his yard with a scissors and asked if he wanted to fight. He admitted that they all had a scuffle.
The accused was remanded to prison and is expected to make another court appearance on July 15.
