Irate parents, especially whose children attended the C.V. Nunes primary are frustrated about the placement of their children in secondary schools following the recent National Grade six assessment results.
Yesterday, many parents who accompanied their children to uplift their results were up in arms.
One parent, a Mrs. Assia, said the cut off point for an entrance at the Anna Regina Secondary School is 460 masks’ and her daughter obtained above the required cut-off marks but she was given a place at Abraham’s Zuil, a far distance from where the child lives.
Another parent noted that those students who obtained above the cut-off marks were referred to the Abram’s Zuil Secondary, while those who gained lesser marks were placed at the Anna Regina Secondary School.
Many parents who tried to engage the Regional Educational Officer for a comment were told that there is little or nothing he could do to alter the confusion.
