Fifty- three-year-old, Gloria Narayan, the grieving mother of Rudranauth Narayan, 21, who lost his life tragically to a road accident on Saturday last, on the La Belle Alliance Public Road, and her second son, Kawall, in yet another road accident on the Haff- en- Auric Public Road, a few months earlier, is once again in a severe state of shock.
But amidst all her sadness she is a firm believer in God.
She told this newspaper that although both of her sons died suddenly in separate road accidents and at such a young age she believes their deaths were not untimely.
Mrs. Narayan said that last year May, she also unfortunately lost her daughter-in- law, Sharon Jairam, by way of an electrocution.
Mrs. Jairam died after she came into contact with a drop cord that was attached to her Pomona house. Describing Jairam as quiet she said on May 17 last year, her daughter-in–law was attending to one of her sheep when she accidentally came into contact with the wire.
She said that during the period there was persistent and heavy rainfall.
Sitting with her head bent, Mrs. Narayan recalled vividly where she was when she heard the sad news of Kawall’s death.
She said that she was at her Johanna Cecilia home.
According to Mrs. Narayan, Kawall, who was a driver by profession, was riding a motorcycle. He crashed and was thrown into a trench after he attempted to make a turn.
His three passengers and “so-called friends” made a daring exist from the vehicle without rendering any assistance. She said his post mortem report disclosed that he died of drowning.
He has left to mourn a six year-old and a three-year-old. His wife, who still resides at her mother-in law’s residence, said she has gained the support of her in-laws and is coping, although it has been a constant struggle, after losing her husband.
Mrs. Narayan said that on Saturday, realizing that she had again lost another son she held onto Buffy’s lifeless feet and offered a simple prayer.
She said that Buffy, as he was fondly called, left his Johanna Cecilia home on Saturday last with the intention of attending a 20/20 cricket that was played at the Anna Regina Community Centre Ground.
Rudranauth, instead of returning home after the cricket match, decided to venture further up the coast, accompanied by another friend Roy McCoy.
Rudranauth will be buried tomorrow after a church service that would be kept at his home.
