P&P Insurance Brokers confirms sponsorship
Flashback!!! Sponsor Bish Panday (standing right) pose with participants of last year’s GLTA Junior Tennis Camp
The Guyana Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) is set to host another Junior Tennis Camp, an annual event that has been taking place since 2005.
Bish Panday, proprietor of P & P Insurance Brokers has continued to fulfill his commitment to provide healthy lifestyles and encourage discipline in young children through sport, by confirming sponsorship of the event, yet again. According to a GLTA release, Panday’s sponsorship of the activity has remained consistent with his principles and the result has proved valuable to the organization, because of the growing number of children playing tennis.
Through tennis camps and primary school programmes, the GLTA is able to provide means for children to participate and learn about the sport. But more importantly, coaches also take the opportunity to spot potential talent for further development and encourage the young players to take up the sport more seriously.
This event is the primary tennis activity for the year, as over 80 children usually play the gamet for the first time, but continue to play in the National Park Programme.
The camp is geared for children aged 6 to 18 years and will be carried out at the Pegasus Hotel Tennis Courts for two weeks, from Monday July 13th – Friday July 24th on weekdays only from 08:00 -10:00hrs for (for 6-11-years old) and 10:00 -12noon (12-18 years old). A fee of $1000 per week will be charged for each child.
The Opening Ceremony for the Camp is set for 08:00hrs on Monday. Parents are asked to be present at 07:30hrs to complete registration before the start of the ceremony. Limited registration is being done by contacting National coach, Shelly Daly on 642-5672 or 227-7735.
