After heated competition on the night of the semifinals of FACTS3- fashion house at the Umana Yana on June 13, six spokes models and six student designers are all set for their final face-off on July 9, at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall at 19:00 hrs.
The semi-finals featured two segments of competition, the first segment being where the student designers were tasked with designing an outfit for a professional within several fields for Universal Group of companies.
There was also the costume segment, where student designer Clinton Duncan and student model Anaisa Lewis copped top honors with their spectacular costume design and display.
What to expect for the final face off?
Student designers were given the task of creating three outfits each, and were also given total artistic freedom to create fashion as their interpretation of what they see it to be. From ready to wear pieces to ‘avant garde’ to ‘couture’ the audience will be wowed with the creativity of the students.
They will also be given a compulsory outfit to create under the theme “A FOREVER GREEN GUYANA” which they will be working on with their student model to create the outfit that is most environmentally friendly. The student model will have to present this at the FACE OFF.
Last year’s FACTS 2 winner Sharda Eligon will be presenting her 2009 swimwear collection. Tickets are $1000 each and VIP tickets can be obtained from the Facts ‘N’ Roses office at 43 Garnett Street, Campbellville.
