Central Essequibo defeated South Essequibo to win the first ever Digicel D’ Bimmer Flex Twenty20 cricket festival, played at the Anna Regina Community Centre ground on Saturday.
In the final, South batted first and posted 73 to which Central responded with 79, led by Man of the Match Lachman Rohit, who slammed 27 to follow up his five wickets, taken when South batted. Rohit also ran out two batsmen and collected three catches in his match winning performance.
The other teams that participated in the one-day competition were North Essequibo, Pomeroon, Wakenaam and Leguan.
