Coincides with company’s 40th anniversary
The sixth annual National Milling Company of Guyana (NAMILCO) ‘Wheat Up’ cycle road race, organised by the Roraima Bikers Club is set for Monday, CARICOM Day.
The best senior, junior and veteran riders in the country are expected to collide as they vie for the attractive prizes on offer and headlining the list is defending senior champion, Alonzo Greaves. Chris Persaud and Kennard Lovell are the respective defending junior and veteran champs.
Race time is 08:00hrs from Namilco, situated at Eccles Flour Mill Road on the East Bank, where senior and junior riders proceed to Long Creek on the Linden Soesdyke Highway, before returning for what is anticipated to be an exciting finish at the Two Brothers Gas Station at Eccles. The veteran cyclists will turn back at the Soesdyke Public Road/Linden Highway junction to finish at the same point. Cash prizes will go to the first six finishers in the open category, along with the first three in the junior and veteran divisions. The top rider in each category will also receive trophies.
All cyclists’ participating would receive tokens compliments of Namilco, celebrating their 40th Anniversary.
Registration will end at 07:30hrs on Monday morning.
