Two hospitalised after head on collision
Two persons were admitted to separate city hospitals following a head on collision between two cars on the Happy Acres Public Road, East Coast Demerara around 19:30 hours on Tuesday night. The accident occurred near the treacherous Happy Acre Turn.
Kaieteur News understands that one of the cars PAA 7629 was proceeding in a westerly direction when the driver overtook another vehicle and ended up in the path of an oncoming vehicle causing the head on crash.
The driver of PAA 7629 rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was admitted suffering from concussion.
A female passenger in the other car in the accident was admitted a patient at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
Police in the district have again appealed to drivers to take the necessary precaution when approaching the many treacherous curves in the road.
