Schools in Rupununi recently acquired five books on the laws of Cricket and Cricket gear, from Sylvie’s General Store to boost cricket in the area.
These Law books were presented to cricket coach, Maurice Peters at Sylvie’s General Store in Georgetown for schools in the North Karassabi. Tipuri, Tiger Pond, Ruccomutta, Yorong Puru and Taushida received the law books in the South Pakarimas area, while the schools in the North Rupununi received cricket gear also donated by Silvies
Coach, Peters is in the process of seeking assistance for sponsorship for under-15 cricket from various organisations, (Hand in Hand Insurance Company, Sterling Products and Alliance for Change)
Peters was involved in the second phase of his programme, which included the distribution of the books.
During these visits coaching was conducted for nine schools across the North Rupununi and South Pakarima’s areas. Fairview Primary, Surama Primary, Wowetta Primary, Annai Secondary, Bina Hill Institute, Kwatmang Primary, Annai Primary, Aranaputa Primary,Yakarinta Primary and Massara Primary are the schools
The schools that received these support will like to thank Sylvie’s General store for their contribution for schools in the Rupununi and hope other donors could play their part to improve the standard of cricket in the future.
