On the occasion of the 170th anniversary of the Guyana Police Force, all police divisions countrywide have commenced their celebrations.
The Essequibo Division (G Division) held a church service at the Richard Fikal College at Suddie, yesterday
Celebrating with the force were Region Two Chairman, Ally Baksh; Essequibo Technical Institute Principal, Dennis Jaikarran; Essequibo Fire Officer, Chairman of the Essequibo Policing Group, Kishore Gobin; ranks of the police force and members of the Suddie Full Gospel Church.
Mrs. Minerva Roberts was the officiating pastor. In her message to the audience, she called on the police to be fearless, while conducting their duties in a dignify manner.
She also reminded the officers that their duty is to serve the public.
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper,’’ she quoted from the Bible.
