Competition in the Berbice Football Association (BFA) Coca Cola Senior League tournament continues tomorrow and Sunday with matches slated for venues on both sides of the Berbice River.
At Blairmont # 3 Ground tomorrow from 4:00pm, Barzilla take on Mahaicony United in a battle of the underdogs.
Sunday at the same venue at 2:00pm Real Union, who will be led by the Fraser boys, Delwin and Delroy, challenge Monedderlust, who will feature the Johnson brothers, Gladwin and Orwin.
In the second match Sunday at 4:00pm, Rosignol United play Pistons United. Shawn “Uncle” Brutus and former national U-16 Garson Baker will head Rosignol’s challenge against goal hungry strikers Javier Gomes and Orlando Hinds of Pistons.
Across at Burnham Park, Sunday’s opening contest from 2:00pm, Scottsburg United come up against Strike Force United in the battle of the newcomers.
At 4:00pm Cougars FC tackle N/A United. Cougars Horace Roache and Kirth Bristol backed by custodian Ryan Kellowan take on the likes of leading goal scorer Adrian “Garnett” Adams supported by former U-16 and U-20 players Shurlone Edwards and Hoffman Spencer in what is being touted as an epic battle. An entrance fee of only $200 is being charged at the venues.
