The teacher caught in the East Coast hotel with his 16-year-old student is scheduled to appear in court today to answer charges of demanding monies with menace. However, this publication understands that the teacher is no longer an employee of the Education Ministry.
Two days after being remanded to prison on a charge of demanding by menace, the teacher who specialised in Geography and History has resigned from the city school.
Reports from prison inmates are that the 24-year-old teacher sat and penned the letter after contemplations and with recommendations from other senior officials. The resignation was tendered from behind the walls of the Camp Street jail. He had earlier met with GTU president Colwyn King and other members of the Union. Last night, he was out of prison having applied to the High Court for bail.
