-pageant to showcase ‘glamour and electric creativity’
The 2K9 Miss Guyana Talented Teen Pageant was officially launched on Sunday night at Duke Lodge, Kingston, and was definitely a stately and elegant affair.
While patrons were all elegantly attired in keeping with event trends, 11 stunning ladies were presented to the public. Many were led to believe that the event would indeed be laced with ‘glamour and electric creativity’ as stated by coordinator, Pamela Dillon.
According to Dillon, folks at Simpli Royal Promotions are ready to unleash a fusion of glamour and electric creativity at this year’s Miss Talented Teen Pageant which would be made evident in décor, choreography and the presentation of the contestants.
In a brief interview, yesterday, Dillon indicated that this year around things have been put in place to ensure the pageant presents high class glitz and colour even as it will showcase a rather enthralling atmosphere ‘teenage style’.
The 11 damsels have already begun under the auspices of Trinidadian pageant guru/makeup artist, Lester Roseau.
The pageant is slated for September 12 at the National Cultural Center.
Rehearsals have began at the Duke Lodge since Thursday gone and will continue for an extended period.
This year around, girls have been selected from the East Coast of Demerara, Berbice, Linden, and Georgetown, and this in itself promises fiery competition, judging from the different background and locations of the contestants. The youngest contestant is 14-years-old.
Those competing this year’s title are Toshana Allicock, Rugayyah Boyer, Sarah Gannie, Analisa Austin, Criatelle Alleyne, Meenakshi Khuburi, Jenelle Babb, Tenesia Piggott, Kiswana Jefford, Madonna Ghani and Marisa Adams.
