A 45 year old chainsaw operator was pronounced dead on arrival at the McKenzie Hospital on Saturday, hours after he was struck by the branch of a tree that he was cutting.
Gregory Domingo of Port Kaituma North West District is the latest chainsaw operator to be killed in this manner.
According to reports, Domingo was felling trees in the Kwakwani Backdam, when the branch broke off and struck him on his head around 10:00 hours.
He was rushed to the hospital but because of the distance he had to travel, he died before receiving medical attention.
