Amrit Etwaroo played consistently for four days to finish 8th in the NJCAA National Golf Championship in NY during June 2 –5.
The 72-hole tournament had over 100 qualifiers from over 20 states and 40 colleges in the US.
Chris Maler from Monroe College won the tournament with 8 players shooting 4 over par or better. Etwaroo finished with 292 (74, 73, 72, 73) on a very difficult putting green.
His coach was very pleased because it was the first time in 10 years that a student from Rockland College made the NJCAA All-American Honours (The top 15 individuals earned NJCAA All-American Honours).
Amrit a second year student at Rockland College/State University of NY and captain of his College Golf Team was the Region winner.
He also helped his team win the 2009 Mid Hudson Conference Division.
