Yellow Mines defeat Floodlights XI
Yellow Mines skipper Manzoor Khan receives the winning Rays Auto Sales trophy from Ray Seebaran.
Last Friday night at the GCC Ground Bourda Yellow Mines played some outstanding softball cricket to upset the experience Floodlights XI.
Yellow Mines batting first made a massive 246 for 7 off their allotted 25 overs, with Man-of-the-Match, Henry Alphonso top scoring with 81, and was well supported by a blistering 78 from David Wallace and Asif Ahmad 54. Mike Singh was the only economical bowler, with 1 for 22 runs off 5 overs.
Despite a fighting 79 from Ricky Deonarain, Floodlights XI were restricted to 186 for 9 when their overs expired. Azad Azeez was the man destroyer with 4 wickets for 30 runs.
All the trophies for this match were sponsored by Rays Auto Sales of Sheriff Street Georgetown.
