The annual Bakewell sponsored Muslim Youth Organisation of Guyana 15 overs Inter-Jamaat Softball round robin cricket competition will conclude tomorrow at the MYO ground, Woolford Avenue, Thomas Lands, Georgetown.
The semi-finals will start at 9am with four teams battling for the final spots.
The presentation of trophies and cash incentives will take place the same day at 5pm. The results of the quarter-final matches played last Sunday are as follows:
Farm B beat LBI – Farm B took first strike and made 163 for 4 wickets with Mark Khan hitting 53 not out and Ralph Yusuf 47 not out. Bowling for LBI Tariq Ali and Anil Singh took 2 wickets a piece.
LBI in reply made 138 all out, with Imran Ali scoring 31.
Bowling for Farm B, Intikab Mohamed claimed 5 wickets for 15 runs and Avinash Singh 2 for 12.
MYO defeated Peter’s Hall – Peter’s Hall batting first were bundled out for 33 in just 7 overs. Fazal Khan and Azad Ibrahim returned excellent figures of 2 for 7 runs apiece.
MYO in reply reached their target in 3 overs without losing a wicket, Fazim Mohammed made 34.
Farm A overcame Wales – Wales were dismissed for 123, with Saeed Nazir contributing 27. . Bowling for Farm A, Andy Ally, Buddhan Baksh, Imtiaz Mohamed, Vivian Bissoon and Yunus Mohamed took 2 wickets apiece. Farm A knocked off the runs losing three wickets. Abdool Sadick and Yunus Mohamed were not out at the end with 24 and 28 runs respectively.
In the final quarter-final game between Grove and Triumph, Grove came out victorious.
Semi-final matches tomorrow will see: At MYO Ground – 9am – Grove vs. Farm B; 11am – Farm A vs. MYO; 1pm – the Third Place playoff will be contested; 2:45pm – semi-final winners collide in the Final.
